Navigate Consortium was founded in Milan (via Brera 16) in 1989. Navigate Consortium’s first mission was to combine and harmonize its partners’ forces in order to successfully compete in international tenders, mainly concerning online database architecture (Engineering Group, Machiavelli Group) and process automation (ABB Asea Brown Boveri).
Navigate Consortium co-sponsored several Italian Aerospace Forum organized by Euroways, one of its members, space was targeted as the Navigate’s main area of business, due to new, important initiatives occurring at International, European, Italian and Local level. The Consortium started a task force on space and opened its membership to the most important Italian aerospace companies .
In 2001 Regione Lombardia gave the Consortium a new formal assignment: to promote a Regional (in Northern Italy) aerospace initiatives.
Navigate participates to the European Commission project named : ERA-STAR regions, for aerospace, representing the Region Lombardia.
Navigate Consortium, managing new aerospace initiatives and applications , “Navigate Innovation”, is the coordinator in Italy , through the Regione Lombardia, of the European Satellite Navigation Competition 2008.
Several other business opportunities have been promoted by Navigate Consortium, at both National and European level, with a very high success rate.
The present role assigned to the Consortium by its members is the promotion of space and aerospace initiatives including applications and education , in the European, Italian and Regional context.
